ABOUT THIS SITE
This website is an aggregation of information pertaining to (1) the sexual abuse of minors by Catholic clergy in the United States and (2) the coverup of that criminal abuse by the US Catholic hierarchy. Eventually, information on the worldwide scope and decades-long legacy of clerical criminal behavior will also be collected here. The roles of the pope, the Vatican, the Roman curia, and the Holy See in allowing this legacy to persist will be examined.
The site features a blog-style chronology of significant events and legal developments pertaining to child sexual abuse in the Catholic Church, primarily in the United States. The blog entries point to relevant news media articles and provide information on the source and author(s). Each blog entry contains a synopsis of the source article, or excerpts from it. In each entry a hyperlink to the source article is provided for the convenience of readers.
In time, the site will also contain pages dedicated to specific topics such as criminal prosecutions and sentences, civil litigation and settlements, and recent and on-going investigations by federal, state, and local authorities.
